Oxford St has long been home to the LGBTQI community. The origin story starts here and it’s still part of the annual Mardi Gras Parade route. St Vincent’s Hospital diagnosed the first case of AIDS in Australia and administered palliative care for patients for many decades. There’s a variety of pubs, nightclubs and cruisey bars in the area and a show on every single night - sometimes many shows!
